Professional Development and Education

We are committed to enhancing the qualifications of our team and being a resource for aspiring and practicing PT's on an ongoing basis.  We consider ourselves as a center of excellence for the care of performing artists both in Physical Therapy and Strength and Conditioning. We believe that sharing our knowledge and bringing in experts to share theirs benefits the profession. Here, we will post information about upcoming events and internship opportunities.

  • We invite aspiring physical therapists to join us in the spring of each year for a terminal internship.

     

    This opportunity is open to students with a keen interest in the performing arts who have already completed a full-time orthopedic physical therapy rotation. Beyond developing skills in performing arts physical therapy,students may participate in backstage venues, conduct screenings and assessments, and contribute to workshops within the performing arts community.

    Placement at FlySpace Physical Therapy is subject to a comprehensive review of each student's:

    Cover Letter:

    Share details about yourself, your interest in securing an internship at FlySpace, and your career aspirations.

     

    CV:

    Prepare an up-to-date CV for our review.

     

    Letters of Recommendation:

    Provide 2 letters of recommendation to be sent to FlySpace Physical Therapy.

     

    Academic Transcripts:

    Forward your graduate school transcripts to FlySpace Physical Therapy.

     

    Following the initial review, selected students will be invited for an interview. Interested students should submit all the required information to the address below by 11:59 pm on January 31. Decisions will be communicated by the end of February.

  • We believe in staying educated by experts in the field of physical therapy. We regularly invite specialists to come and present workshops for the performing arts medicine community in our space. This September, we will host internationally recognized specialist, Tim Gabbett PhD to teach a weekend-long course on load adaptation.

  • If you are interested in a career in performing arts physical therapy or work in performing arts medicine outside of New York City and would like to observe our clinicians, we welcome you to volunteer your time and observe our practice.
