PER DIEM PERFORMING ARTS PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Location: 81st & Broadway
About Us: FlySpace Physical Therapy, established in 2021 in NYC, delivers top-notch care for performing artists. We've built strong ties with arts companies and schools, offering specialized care in theaters, companies, schools, and dance intensives. FlySpace is known for its welcoming, community-centered environment and commitment to continuous learning and excellent patient care. Position Overview: We are seeking Per Diem Physical Therapists with at least 3 years of experience to join our team. This role involves providing on-site care at various performing arts institutions, with a time commitment that will vary based on clinic contracts and clinician availability. Candidates will be strongly encouraged to participate in monthly meetings focused on skill building, communication, and discussions about providing care to performing artists. These sessions will be led by FlySpace Physical Therapists. An Ideal Candidate Will: • Have evening and weekend availability to travel backstage/onsite in Manhattan and Brooklyn. • Have efficient triage and treatment skills. • Demonstrate proficiency in concise communication with doctors and clinic managers. • Have strong manual therapy skills. • Be familiar with Western dance terminology and vocabulary. • Be open to receiving and implementing feedback. • Have a strong passion for learning and active participation in annual continuing education. • Thrive in a collaborative, team-centered environment. --- How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to send a cover letter, CV and two references to Marissa at marissa@flyspacenyc.com Thank you for considering FlySpace Physical Therapy as your next career opportunity!
Pay: $80 per hour, which includes the completion of one patient note. For each additional note beyond
the first one per hour, clinicians will receive an extra $5 per note.
FULL TIME PHYSICAL THERAPIST

FlySpace Physical Therapy is a vibrant and dynamic clinic located in New York City, with a specialization in providing care for performing artists. Our approach at FlySpace emphasizes the creation of a welcoming, community-centered environment, a commitment to continuous learning and education, and the delivery of high-quality, specialized care. Since our inception in 2021, we have forged partnerships with various performing arts companies and schools, fostering a unique environment where our therapists not only operate within our clinic but also have opportunities to extend their services to diverse off-site locations. In these off-site settings, our physical therapists often serve as the primary point of contact for medical care. As such, candidates for positions at FlySpace must possess: * Exceptional triage and examination skills suitable for a fast-paced backstage or onsite environment (20-minute sessions). * Proficiency in concise communication with doctors and clinic managers to facilitate timely decisions regarding patient care, class participation, rehearsals, and performances. * Strong manual skills (IPA preferred). * Familiarity with classic dance terminology and vocabulary. * Openness to receiving and implementing feedback. * A strong passion for continuous learning and active participation in annual continuing education. * The ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-centered environment. At FlySpace Physical Therapy, our services extend beyond exclusively serving performing artists. We welcome both performers and non-performers alike. In addition to accepting workers’ compensation cases, which enables us to cater to professionals working in companies and on Broadway, we also offer cash-based services tailored for performing artists and our local community. Furthermore, our team includes two highly skilled pelvic floor physical therapists who provide specialized care in this area. Responsibilities of our therapists include: * Conducting thorough examinations, evaluations, and treatments in an outpatient orthopedic clinic setting (60-minute evaluations and 45-minute follow-up appointments). * Efficiently triaging, treating, and referring patients in fast-paced off-site locations (20-30 minute appointments). * Maintain clear and regular communication with physicians regarding patient progress, changes, and challenges. * Manage patient scheduling using online scheduling software . * Deliver 1-2 in-services annually. * Participate in occasional community events including health promotion workshops for performing artists.
