Founded by former performing artists, the FlySpace physical therapy studio brings a deep understanding of movement, mechanics and the complexities of the human body and psyche to every client interaction. When it comes to physical therapy, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. We adapt and adjust continually as our clients progress. We are driven to help you persevere through pain, overcome limitations and get back to life, work and play.

The FlySpace strength team is motivated by a devotion to continuous improvement. We engage with each client thoughtfully, borrowing from multiple disciplines including exercise science, motor learning and control, and mental health to create a sophisticated action plan that is custom-tailored to each person’s considerations and goals. We take great satisfaction in helping you become not just stronger, but more flexible, agile, and confident. Ours is a true 21st-century approach to fitness, informed by science and research.
Nervous System Regulation
High performance coaches use nervous system regulation to create better body awareness, allow athletes to visualize training scenarios, and help them achieve and maintain flow states during competition. Mental health professionals use it to help manage challenges from anxiety to depression to OCD to trauma. Health care providers have been integrating it as a way to manage pain, speed recovery, and regulate overexcited nervous systems. At Flyspace , we use any and all of these approaches to help you reach your maximum potential.

At Flyspace you begin with a thorough assessment in order to better understand your unique needs. On the healthcare side, that includes investigating what is driving your symptoms, which could originate with anything from how you run to the bus, to how you sit at your desk, to how the bones in your foot articulate.
On the strength training and mental performance side, that means listening to your goals and creating an integrated approach that includes all facets of human growth.

We know that time spent away from the stage, studio, gym, field, track, or exercise class is tough. It is lost livelihood and mental well-being.
This is why physical therapy aims to return you to self sufficiency as quickly as possible. Hands-on bodywork is supplemented by strength building and movement drills that you can do at home, so that we are solving the problem quickly and for the long term.

About The Space
The 2,000 square foot clinic on New York’s Upper West Side @ 81st street is a place for healing and movement.
Hands-on work is an integral part of the process, done in a state of the art facility. Also FlySpace features a dedicated floor space equipped for interactive physical therapy, strength training, and dance or other body movement.
Each client begins with a thorough assessment in order to better understand what is driving your unique symptoms, which could originate with anything from how you run to the bus, to how you sit at your desk, to how the bones in your foot articulate. Whatever the cause, understanding your personal situation is critical to your treatment success.
